On Saturday May 23rd, CAFES held a wildly successful Pollinator Plant Sale at the Great Glebe Garage Sale!
It was an incredibly fun day with the best plant sales we have seen yet! Hundreds of native perennial wildflowers (17 different species!) have now been distributed to community members all throughout Ottawa for pollinator gardening. Not to mention the hundreds of herbs and annual flowers that were also sold!
We once again had excellent company at our lively corner on Glebe Avenue and Lyon Street – beside Ecology Ottawa’s tree give-away, the McCarthy Woods and Canal Woods Terrace resistance groups, the Ottawa Wildflower Seed Library, ReImagine Ottawa, and City of Ottawa Councillor and Environment and Climate Change Committee Chair, Shawn Menard.
A big thank you goes out to all of our fantastic volunteers who contributed on Saturday by coming early to set up, staying after to clean up, working the coffee and honey table, selling plants, and speaking to community members at the CAFES info table. Thank you as well to everyone who purchased plants to support pollinators and native biodiversity in Ottawa.
This annual plant fundraiser helps to support CAFES climate and environmental work and it is through your support that we can continue building community, advocating for a more sustainable Ottawa, and contributing to local greening.
Happy spring planting!
