We had a very fun day at the Pollinator Appreciation Day on Saturday June 20! Big thank you to Fletcher Wildlife Garden and Wild Pollinator Partners for hosting this important family-friendly community event to celebrate pollinator species and all they do for our eco system and city. This year had an especially cool theme – “Start with a Tree”! Trees are an extremely important way to increase pollinator food courses and habitat. Given CAFES dedication to advocating for stronger tree planting policies in Ottawa, we were thrilled to speak to community members at our table about the work we do. Thanks to all who came out!
We also started the next wave of button making! We have new designs for “I vote for climate” and “I love renewable energy”. See picture below of MP Bruce Fanjoy sporting these new designs and Eaton (the cutest ever CAFES volunteer) helping us make the buttons!
