CAFES Climate Action Survey

On December 20th, 2022, we launched a Climate Action Survey to learn about what Ottawa residents know and think about individual and collective climate actions. We developed this pilot survey with the help of a Carleton practicum student. As of February 3rd, 2023 we have received 179 responses, with the following highlights:

  • The vast majority of respondents are concerned about climate change, and feel the city of Ottawa should be doing more to address it. Most respondents feel we all have a role to play in tackling climate change.
  • Top individual actions that respondents highlighted were using sustainable forms of transportation, sustainable purchasing habits and calling on decision makers to take action.
  • Top city-level actions were enhancing and protecting greenspace, expanding and subsidising sustainable transit and preventing urban sprawl.
  • Respondents are interested in participating in many forms of collective climate action, especially participating in neighbourhood project

The survey is still live and if you haven’t taken it yet, we would love it if you did! You can take the survey here: https://form.jotform.com/223464162484255, and feel free to share with family and friends!
