On Friday June 30th, the musician group Brother Bones hosted a fundraiser for CAFES Ottawa in partnership with and held at the music venue Redbird Live. The fundraiser featured special guests including fiddler Alexis MacIsaac and saxophonist John Sobel.
The fundraiser was well attended with every seat in the house filled. The evening began with Alexis MacIsaac as the opening act, which was followed by a passionate and thought-provoking speech by CAFES' very own Angela Keller-Herzog, with support by CAFES staff Mary Stuart & Phillipa MacDonald.
Alexis MacIsaac captivated the audience in her opening act, and later joined Brother Bones on Stage for a special performance. Brother Bones put on an energizing and charming show as featured in the video clips below. The band later welcomed saxophonist John Sobel on stage who meshed beautifully with the band and delighted the crowd.
The fundraiser was an astounding success which managed to collect a $1120 donation for CAFES!
CAFES would like to express a huge thank you to the leading organizer David Pare; to all the musicians who played at this fantastic show; to RedBird Live for graciously hosting the event; and to all those patrons and supporters who attended! Congratulations to all involved with this fun musical evening and successful fundraising effort.
