CAFES at the Carp Fair

CAFES had an incredible time connecting with community members about renewable energy transitions at the annual Carp Fair this September!

Alongside the Electric Vehicle Council of Ottawa (EVCO), CAFES served up free cookies, green coffee, and even solar powered popcorn! We had a wonderful time speaking with residents and fair-goers about Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), electric vehicles, wind and solar energy, municipal climate policy, and the immediate need to transition away from fossil fuels. If you haven't already, show your support for accelerated climate action at the City of Ottawa by signing our Renewable Energy Petition.

Since 1863, the Carp Fair has had a long history of celebrating the harvest season, showcasing the farming community's livestock, produce and craftsmanship through exciting exhibitions. The fair has become one of the most widely anticipated agricultural fairs in the region with people coming from all over Canada and the USA. CAFES was delighted to be a part of this tradition by engaging in meaningful conversations about climate action and the transition to renewable energy.
