On Saturday May 30th CAFES and the Mechanicsville Community Association held a fun tree planting and maintenance day at our site near Tunney’s Pasture!
We planted 40 new tree saplings including beautiful Red and Silver Maples, Balsam Poplars, White Birch, Nannyberries and White Pine. We watered the existing trees that were planted in 2024 and 2025 and did some site maintenance including weeding, trimming, and checking tree survival rates.
Thank you to those of you who came out to help, and to those of you who have agreed to help water the site throughout the summer. We will be in touch shortly to plan the next big watering day.
