Help Grow Ottawa’s Urban Canopy – Volunteer with EnviroCentre!
EnviroCentre is excited to partner with the City of Ottawa to deliver the new Plant Your Place! program. Through this initiative 1,200 free trees will be distributed across the city to help residents green their private properties. Registered participants will pick up their trees at one of the four Spring Tree Distribution events.
Trees do so much for our city — absorbing rainwater, improving air quality, capturing carbon, and keeping our neighbourhoods cool in the summer. They also add beauty to our communities and create essential habitat for wildlife, supporting biodiversity and a healthier ecosystem. With 40% of Ottawa’s urban area on private property, there’s a huge opportunity to expand our urban canopy — and we need your help to make it happen.
Volunteer at a Tree Distribution Event
EnviroCentre is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support the Tree Distribution Events on the following dates:
Volunteers will assist with unloading trees, welcoming participants, confirming names/orders, directing vehicles on-site, and helping to load trees into participant vehicles. Some tasks require moderate physical activity (e.g., lifting small trees, standing for extended periods).
No experience? No problem! EnviroCentre staff will provide training before the event and will be on-site to support you. Please note volunteers under 18 need to be accompanied by an adult.
Ready to help? Sign up here to volunteer!
