Petition: Support Renewable Energy in Ottawa

We the undersigned support the letter to Ontario Energy Minister Lecce to accelerate local renewable energy and battery storage as the most affordable way to meet Ontario’s growing electricity needs.

Renewables with storage are clean, low-cost, abundant and reliable.

Currently, the municipality of Ottawa depends on power transmitted over long distance for 94% of its energy. Disruptions far away can create power outages.

Renewable energy infrastructure can be built quickly and close to where power is needed. It helps stabilize costs, strengthen local supply, build resilience, and bring economic benefits to rural communities, including farm income and tax revenue from energy companies.

Ottawa wants clean, local power!
