Upcoming Workshop: Can Renewable Energy Save You Money? Mon June 8 2026

Rising costs are on everyone’s mind. Are you curious about how neighbours are reducing their energy bills and keeping the lights on during power outages?

The Trend Arlington Community Association Green Team invites you to a relaxed, guided conversation on Monday, June 8 at 7pm at the Trend Arlington Community Centre (50 Bellman Drive), about how solar panels, electric vehicles, and renewable energy can help reduce monthly expenses and increase self-reliance.

Moderated by CAFES’ Angela Keller-Herzog, you’ll hear from the Ottawa Renewable Energy Co-op (OREC), Electric Vehicle Council of Ottawa (EVCO), and a Trend Arlington homeowner sharing their real-life experience. We’ll explore what these changes cost, where people are seeing savings, what options may make sense for your home and lifestyle, and how renewable energy can improve resilience during outages. Whether you’re seriously considering changes or simply curious, you’re welcome to come listen, learn, and ask questions in a friendly, no-pressure environment.

P.S. – We are looking for youth to join this event! We would love your voice in the room and are inviting youth to be a guest speaker (short, informal), create a poster to share your ideas, ask questions to local leaders, or just come listen and learn. No pressure, no expertise needed — just curiosity and a willingness to be part of something local.

No need to RSVP for this event, but you’re welcome to indicate your interest on our Facebook event page!
